CITY OF GOD begins in mystery: the large brass cross behind the altar of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in lower Manhattan has disappeared ...and even more mysteriously reappeared on the roof of the Synagogue for Evolutionary Judaism on the Upper West Side.
